Lensaku is Indonesian for My Lens.
Photography is not only about techniques and equipments. Like the other forms of art, photography is a way for one to express herself. It is my choice of art, my way to unwind, to appreciate things around me, to see beauty in all things, and to enjoy the moment. It’s also a good way to train myself to see the extraordinary in the ordinary and beauty in imperfection.
Taking photos has never been easier these days. However, we know that some photos leave undeniable mental prints with us and many more we forget as soon as we look at the next photo. I have taken too many photos that didn’t impress a soul including me. So when more people say that they are impressed with my photos, it’s a pleasant confirmation that I can get better at expressing myself.
The below quote resonates well with me. I believe capturing the spirit of life with your camera takes sharp intuition and, in my case, playful spontaneity.
“For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity.”
― Henri Cartier-Bresson
